Dominica's Boiling Lake: Not Easy to Access, But Worth the Hike | HowStuffWorks

Boiling Lake

My country for this semester is going to be Dominica. Dominica is located in the Eastern Caribbean Sea and it sits in between the French islands of Guadeloupe, Marie-Galante, and Martinique. The total land mass is 290 square miles. The island's population is contained of a majority of African descents and the island is also the only island to still contain a large group of "Carbi Indians" which were the groups of people living on the island before the island was colonized. The island is known to have serval active volcanos but the volcanos don't erupt often and are considered rare. It is also known to have hot springs as well as the famous boiling lake. The boiling lake is good for Dominica because it is a very poor country and the boiling lake brings in lots of tourists which helps bring money into the country. In Dominica, they follow the Legislative branch of government called Parliament.
