Dominica is known to have some pretty extreme rainfall on the island. The amount of rainfall that occurs often causes floods and damage to the land. The climate change that is happening in the world is not good for Dominica according to the global climate risk Dominica is ranked 25th out of 150 different countries. The storm rate in Dominica reached an all-time high in 2018 according to the charts provided by the Climate Change Knowledge Portal.

Learn How to Prepare for Severe Weather in the Dominican Republic

Dominica is asking large nations to think of small countries like Dominica and how they are being affected by the global warming that is happening in the world.  Dominica has started to fight the global warming problems but is asking for more countries to join the fight. By 2030, Dominica is pushing to be resilient from these problems. Dominica is building structures that will hopefully stand the conditions even as they get worse over the years to come. Some of the things suggested by the government to stay safe are to get on the smart traveler program so that the residents on the island have a way to evacuate the island when needed. Another thing they suggest is to keep all your identification cards up to date in case of extreme conditions, and to also have a way to contact family for help. Another thing you can do to stay safe is not drive on standing water because you can get stuck and stranded out by yourself.
